A Doctor of Chiropractic or a Chiropractor, diagnoses and treats patients whose health problems are associated with the body's muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems, especially the spine and extremities.
Many chiropractors primarily manually manipulate/adjust the spine and extremity joints to treat the structures. They may also use other various modalities such as cupping, tape, laser, ice, massage, ultrasound, and electric stimulation to address the patient's symptoms.

Unlike medical doctors, chiropractic doctors do not prescribe medications. Chiropractors go through a four year chiropractic school to receive a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Dr. Christine Lee is a first generation Taiwanese-American, who was born in Washington, DC and raised in northern Virginia. She received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from East Carolina University in North Carolina.

After graduating from ECU, she decided to try something new and moved to California in 1997. She had the opportunity to work both as a part-time Juvenile probation counselor for Santa Clara County and at the same time as an office manager in a busy chiropractic office. It’s in that office where she experienced first-hand how chiropractic care changes lives. When it came time to decide between a full time career in probation or healing, the decision was clear, becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic was her true path.

In 2000 she began her own chiropractic journey at Life Chiropractic College West. During school she was active in both the Pediatric Club and Gonstead Society. At one point she was asked to be a clinic case presenter for the school, an experience that still makes her shake with nerves today. She’s been on two separate chiropractic mission trips to El Salvador First as a student, and later as a lead doctor. During those trip she treated over 300 patients and quickly learned the strength of the human spirit.

After graduating in 2003, Dr. Lee opened Lee Chiropractic in Hayward, California. She also worked as the team trainer for the San Francisco Golden Gate Men’s Rugby team and has volunteered her services at the Bay Area Battered Women’s shelter, which was organized by the LCCW students.

In 2005, she moved her practice to Oakland, CA where she continues to practice the art of Chiropractic care. To further aid people on their journey to wellness and health, Dr. Lee has continued her education. She has a passion for working with athletes and holds certification as a chiropractic extremity practitioner (CCEP) as well as a chiropractic sports practitioner (CCSP), and is also certified in the Webster In-utero Constraint Technique for expectant mothers, which she sees simply as a different form of athleticism. She is always learning in order to better serve her patients in new and exciting ways.

In 2023, Dr. Lee and her family moved to the beautiful woods of Chapel Hill, NC. She enjoys life with her husband and son. She loves cooking, camping, dirt biking and Brazilian jiujitsu. She constantly reminds herself, “anything worth doing or changing should make you a little nervous.”
